오, 하늘에 계신 아버지!
당신의 율법은 완전하고, 영혼을 회심시키며, 배우지 못한 자에게 지혜를 주시고 눈을 밝혀 주시는 확실한 증언입니다. 당신의 무한한 선하심으로 말미암아 성령님에 의해서 우리의 맹목적 지성을 조명하셔서, 당신의 율법을 진실로 이해하고 고백하며 그것에 따라 살 수 있도록 겸손하게 간청합니다.
지극히 자비로우신 아버지!

당신은 당신의 뜻의 신비를 단지 어린아이들에게 나타내시는 것을 기뻐 하시며18, 당신의 말씀에 대한 존경심을 가진, 겸손하고 통회하는 영을 가진 자를 살피시는 하나님이시니, 우리에게 겸손한 영을 허락하시고, 당신을 적대시하는 세속적 지혜로부터 우리를 지켜 주옵소서. 진리에서 벗어난 자들을 바른 길로 인도하셔서, 우리가 모두 일치하여 우리 삶의 모든 날에 거룩함과 의로움으로 당신을 섬길 수 있게 하시옵소서. 지극히 자비로우신 아버지, 우리는 우리 주님이시고 구주이신 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 당신으로부터 이것을 구합니다. 그래서 우리는 그분이 우리에게 가르쳐 주신대로 다음과 같이 기도합니다.

 

하늘에 계신 우리 아버지,
아버지의 이름을 거룩하게 하시며
아버지의 나라가 오게 하시며,
아버지의 뜻이 하늘에서와 같이 땅에서도 이루어지게 하소서 .
오늘 우리에게 일용할 양식을 주시고,
우리가 우리에게 잘못한 사람을 용서하여 준 것 같이
우리 죄를 용서하여 주시고,
우리를 시험에 빠지지 않게 하시고, 악에서 구하소서. 아멘.

“Prayer before the Sermon” - Martin Micronius

O heavenly Father, whose law is perfect, converting the soul, a sure testimony, giving wisdom to the unlearned, and enlightening the eyes, we humbly implore you, through your boundless goodness, to enlighten our blind intellect by your Holy Spirit, so that we may truly understand and profess your law and live according to it. Since it has pleased you, most merciful Father, to reveal the mysteries of your will only to the little ones;3 and since you look to him alone who is of a humble and contrite spirit,4 who has reverence for your Word, grant us a humble spirit and keep us from all fleshly wisdom, which is enmity against you.5 Bring to the right way those who stray from the truth, so that we all may unanimously serve you in holiness and righteousness,6 all the days of our life. We ask this from you, most merciful Father, in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And so, we pray as he has taught us to:

  Our Father, who are in heaven, hallowed be your name.
  Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as in heaven.
  Give us today our daily bread.
  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. 
  For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever.
